Question Paper
The written examination paper for the recruitment of Sub Inspectors in the state of Tamil Nadu is divided into two parts:
1. General Studies
2. Psychology
Genral Studies consists of topics of General Science, History of India, Geography, Economics and Commerce, Indian Polity,
Current Event, Logical Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Communication Skills, Information Handling Ability. Don’t forget to read about
the important events that took place in the state of Tamil Nadu, Development plans of the state government, Geography of Tamil
Nadu.
Psychology consists of questions of inductive and deductive reasoning and school level mathematics. Questions of General
Psychology are also asked to check the attitude of the candidates.
Preparation Strategy: Go through the sample questions given on the website (http://www.tn.gov.in/tnusrb) . The
preparation strategy is not different from the Staff Selection Commission exams of central government. Candidates can use the
sample papers of Staff Selection Commission to prepare for this exam. Time factor can play decisive role as the questions are going
to be easy with more emphasis on quickness of answering the questions. At least 20 to 30 percent questions of General Studies can
be related to Tamil Nadu state.
Tamil Nadu Police has recently notified the recruitment notification for the post of Sub Inspector in the state police department. This
is an excellent opportunity for the candidates between the age of 20 to 28 years. The selection process in this exam consists of
Physical Events, Written Exam and Viva Voce.
Those candidates who perform exceptionally well are awarded with bonus marks, for example if a candidate completes 100m race
in 13.5 seconds or less he will get 5 marks while candidates completing the race in time more than 13.5 and less than 5 second
would get only 2 marks.
The written Test paper consists of question of General Knowledge (45 marks) and Psychology (35 marks) Candidates having
additional qualification like NCC would get 5 additional marks.
Successful candidates of the written test are invited for viva voce of 10 marks and on the basis of overall performance the final
merit list of the candidates is prepared.
