MNRE Scope for Waste to Energy

MNRE, GOI SCHEMES & INCENTIVES AVAILABLE THROUGH JAKEDA


 
The schemes of MNRE which can be implemented in Govt/Joint/Private Sector and through
NGOs are described briefly as following:-
 
 A.       Renewable power programmes
i. Biomass Power Co-generation Program
ii. Biomass Gasifier Program
iii. Wind Power Program
iv. Grid interactive SPV Program
v. Solar Thermal Power Program
vi. Small Hydro Power Program
vii. Urban and Industrial Wastes Power Program
Village electrification Programme
Under this programme 18000 un-electrified villages are proposed to be electrified through non-
conventional sources of energy by the year 2012 as the electrification of such villages through
conventional grid is perceived not to be technically feasible and economically viable.
 
The scope and the activities of the scheme are as under:- 
 Scope
 
·        All households of un- electrified remote census villages, by 2012.
·        All un-electrified remote hamlets of electrified villages, by 2012.
 
Activities
  Surveys and studies
 Installation of power plant based on solar energy, SHP, Biomass, wind and
other renewable sources of energy, etc.
 Up gradation/renovation of power plant as well as intensification of
household’s coverage.
 Training, institutional developments, capacity building, development of
maintenance, services etc.
 Monitoring and evaluation.
 Business meets, publicity and awareness programs

ii. Bagasse Co-generation projects
iii. Projects in Cooperative, public, Joint Sector, Private Sector
iv. Biomass Power Projects
v. Promotional activities. 

Power Requirement of Jammu & Kashmir has been Increasing and more power is needed for the
economic growth of the country.
