Natural gas declined 13.9 cents (2.9%) to nearly a new 2 week closing price low at $4.598 yesterday as the gas
market shrugged off a smaller than expected storage injection of 29 Bcf last week. Gas prices ranged from a
high at $4.825 down to a new 8 day low at $4.556 as the gas market once again attempts to halts its slide away
from this week’s earlier new 6 week high near $5.00 while it balances the remaining weeks of this summer’s
cooling season and the upcoming most active part of the hurricane season against ample supplies of gas and an
uncertain economic outlook. We continue to recommend variable rate energy products in this environment.
