J K (Joanne Kathleen) Rowling was born in July 1965 at Yate General

Hospital in England and grew up in Chepstow. Joanne then moved to


northern Portugal where she taught English as a foreign language. She
married in October 1992 and gave birth to her daughter Jessica in 1993.
When the marriage ended Joanne and Jessica returned to the UK to live in
Edinburgh where Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone was eventually
completed. Joanne married Dr. Neil Murray in 2001 and a brother for
Jessica, David. David was born in 2003 and a sister Mackenzie, followed in
2005.

Joanne quickly wrote a sequel Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
which was published July of 1998 in the UK and in June 1999 in the USA.
Immediately after this successful sequel a third book, Harry Potter and The
Prisoner of Azkaban, was published in July and September of 1999 in the
UK and USA.

By the summer of 2000, Joanne Rowling had reportedly earned over $400
million for her first three Harry Potter books, which have been printed in 35
languages and sold over 30 million copies. Her fourth book in the popular
series entitled Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that sold over one million
copies with a first printing of 5.3 million.

Joanne has successfully wrote Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of
Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of
The Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows along with three other novels’, Fantastic Beasts and Where
to Find Them, Quidditch Through The Age and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
