Learning Objectives and Teaching Outcomes

To be able to put together a number of different kinds of circuit and test the
strength of their current.

 Put together a series circuit


 Put together a parallel circuit
 Use the ammeter to measure the current around these circuits.

The Big Picture- How does this lesson fit into the scheme of work (refer to prior
learning, and lessons that follow)

Pupils have been studying electricity and how to draw circuit diagrams. This is
the first part of an investigation in to measuring current and voltage in different
circuits.

Resources required (apparatus, worksheets, ICT)

Safety (risk assessment and reduction strategies)

X 8 Sets

Croc Clips
Wires
2 Bulbs
Ammeter
Voltmeter
Activities and timing (teacher activities, e.g. questions and explanations, pupil
activities, managing transitions, links to intended learning outcomes, learning
styles)

of different abilities and cultural backgrounds
