UNIVERSITY
SUMMARY OF STUDENTS’ RIGHTS
 Right to quality education
 Right to stay in school

 Right to due process

 Right to association

 Right to religion

 Right to privacy and confidentiality

 Right to exercise freedom of expression, speech and of


the press
 Right against sexual-harassment

 Right against irregularities

 Right to participate in reporting mechanism


IMMEDIATE CONCERN
 Involve students in the scheme of reporting irregularities
 Establish several avenues where irregularities will be
reported
 Convince and persuade students that their role in
improving the standards of the school is indispensable
 Creating an atmosphere of ‘adamson university’
citizenship
 Developing the sense of ownership and valuing being a
stakeholder
JURISDICTION OF
COMPLAINTS/REPORTS
 OSA for cases where a student is a respondent
 HR for cases where an a non-teaching employee is the
respondent
 Academic Heads for cases which are academic in nature
and the respondent is a teaching personnel/department
heads
 HR for cases involving a teaching personnel whose
offense is not related to academics

 BUT, OSA may be a recipient of complaints filed by


students which will be properly endorsed to appropriate
jurisdiction
JURISDICTION OF
COMPLAINTS/REPORTS
 VP Level, in cases where the respondents are Deans,
Director, Assistant Deans/Directors
 President, in cases where the respondent is the VP

 Board of Trustees, if the respondent is the President.

STUDENTS TO REPORT IRREGULARITIES
 Intensified campaign across all recognized student
organizations
 Creation of Student Grievance Committee of the AUSG

 Student Representatives’ are always available to help


intermediate between students and offices in which the
issue is cognizable
