History
•UTI Bank is First private bank which is allow
to work as Pvt. bank in India.
•It was established in 1994 with capital of Rs.
112 cr.
•Promoters were UTI, LIC, GIC, and other 4
general Insurance company.
UTI is now Axis Bank
Why ?.......

•April 2007, P.J. Nayak the CEO of UTI Bank has
Announce to change the name of UTI Bank.
• Changed in June -July 07.
• Because of, To make separate entities.
• To save the Royalty amount.
• To remove the perception of PSU’s Unit.
In order to use the brand name post 2008, the bank
would have to pay royalty to the AMC. On rebranding,
the bank will spend Rs 20 crore on change of signages
alone. It is also likely to spend around Rs 30 crore for
the rebranding and marketing exercise. Last year the
bank had spent around Rs 15 crore in marketing.

“The bank had the right to use the brand name till
January 31, 2008. Post that, it would have to pay royalty.
However there was nothing firm on how much royalty had to
be paid. But it had to pay a high royalty.
