After our brief discussion on where we are at, I want to keep this moving. I believe you said (b) was
able to get the board's backing on this proposal. If so, do we have an idea when they will be (6)
able to
formally propose (with funding proposals, levee requirements with IBWC, etc) this design as an option.
We are getting the USACE and SBI engineers on it but like I said before, if the time and money
questions aren't answered (or addressed with viable solutions) the project is a non-starter. I am trying
to avoid any future meetings being a duplicate of previous meetings where we can't really move
forward because we don't have realistic time and funding discussions. That only seems to end in
frustration. This will be important for EPCWID to present a cost and time proposal (this is what Hidalgo
and Cameron Counties have done) because they are the ones actually building the levees not the
government. I know this is gonna be somewhat different because EPCWID is a different kind of
stakeholder. Let me know what you think...thanks.
