Nine lives

Flowing nine ways

With every life

Flowing one way

Nine lives

Running nine miles

While giving a life

To every mile

Nine lives

Fetching many tunes

From many flows

With each flow

Running through

Every mile

With a song
Strange face

With a cool frosty wind

He came calling

Swiftly drifting inward

With a fruit

For every talk

Subtlety tearing the branch

From every trunk

And with a canny laugh

Loosen the plug

That held the life

Now the end is told

As the beginning

With a bit

For every bait

The silent word
He tread the path
Crawling with caution
Toward a deaden hope

Vesting on his amour

While taking off
His own honour

Unsheathing his sight

As his trusted sword
He doubled his drag

Then with a song

Sounding his faith
He made a silent plead
The drifter
He cried out

Loud and wild

Groaning and lamenting

His now dejected state

With his head

Now pillowed on his hands

He recalled how fitted

His crown once Rested

Then covered with purpled robes

While with a snap

He makes every order

The thought of when

His every word was law

Brought a faint grin to his lip

With a jolt he awake

Inside his river of thought

With a set mind

He decided to swim back

To the very spot

Where his crown then tilted
