What is Cotton Caterers?

Cotton Caterers is a caterer business run by Sarah and Fred Cotton based in the town of Newport. They
specialize in weddings, parties; including small dinner parties and business meetings or business conventions.
Cotton Caterers are very popular when it comes to buffets; including sandwiches, sausage rolls, and tea or coffee,
they can also offer full meals which consist of; starters, main course, desert and tea or coffee, and also barbeques
which include; burgers, chicken, hot dog’s, corn on the cob etc.

What does the company offer?

The company offers a wide range of different foods including buffets, full meals and barbeques to the
public in Newport.

What do they want?

The company is beginning to become more successful and want to employ more staff and they also want
to start to use ICT because at the moment they don’t have much use of it. They would like;

 A suitable logo for their business

 Somewhere where they can store information about suppliers and customers
 Be able to produce invoices efficiently
 Produce professional menus for events
 Create leaflets to increase their advertising
 Advertise their business on a website
 Create a presentation that can be downloaded by clients or potential customers

What is the purpose and audience for each system?

Purpose Audience
A logo is needed to customers can identify the business Potential customers
easily
A database is needed so they can store all their Staff who work at Cotton Caterers
suppliers and customers details on there

Invoices will also be produced using a database and a Existing customers

Menus will be needed to clients can see the range of
food on offer
Leaflets will increase their advertising and potentially
boost the amount of customers they have
Advertising on a website will allow people to see what
you are offering
The presentation will be used to advertise offers

Research. The idea of the forks and plate in the corner is very
good because it resembles what the company is about.

I think that
overall this is a
very well
designed
website.

I like the white and red contrast

The big bold logo can be seen very well and will also be remembered
because it is eye catching.
because of the contrast in the colours that have been used.

The logo links in with the company.

The colours aren’t as bold as the

other one, these colours are
more subtle.

The list of what is on offer is a good idea so

potential customers can order what they want
quickly and efficiently.

The description of the company is They have used a picture of food to tempt
a good idea because it gives people into ordering from them.

 The logo is bold and
stands out but is also
very plain.

This website is very different

compared to the others, it
doesn’t bombard you with
information it is a very simple
design for a website but it also
effective.

The pictures are all the same, The simple font allows customers to read text well on the website.
however they do go with the orange
coloured block background.

This image changes every 5

seconds which allows customers to
see the variety of food on offer.

The overall presentation of this

website is posh and elegant.
The telephone number is bold so
The text isn’t very easy to read, it potential clients know how to get
needs to be bolder. in contact with the business.
