According to a report by G. John Richards, Prosecuting Attorney of Lincoln County, the


following case was heard in the Circuit Court of Lincoln County before the Honorable Amy
Kinker on August 02, 2010.

STATE OF MISSOURI VS. ROBERT BASS

Robert Bass, 56, of Foley, entered a plea of guilty on July 19, 2010 to the Class C Felony of
endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree and the Class D Felony of leaving the scene
of a motor vehicle accident and was sentenced on August 02, 2010. The defendant received a
sentence of five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on the Class C Felony and
sentenced to three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on the Class D Felony, to be
served concurrent. The State recommended a sentence of seven years for the Class C Felony and
a sentence of four years for the Class D Felony. This sentence arose out of the events of May 06,
2008, in the County of Lincoln, State of Missouri, the defendant knowingly acted in a manner
that created a substantial risk to the life, body and health of A.L.B., a child less than seventeen
years old, by operating a motor vehicle in which A.L.B. was a passenger, while intoxicated and
the defendant , while operating a motor vehicle on Highway Y, a highway in the County of
Lincoln, State of Missouri, was a party to an accident that caused property damage in excess of
$1,000.00, and the defendant knew that such damage had occurred, and the defendant left the
scene of the accident, without stopping and giving sufficient information by which the defendant
could be readily identified and located to such person or to a police officer in the vicinity or to
the nearest police station or judicial officer.
