Blood Clotting
• Plug of platelets
• Stops uncontrollable
bleeding internally
• Coagulation also means
Blood Clotting
• Uncontrollable bleeding
is life-threathing
• Clots can occur in
veins/arteries.
Immune Response
• Defends against
bacteria, viruses,
foreign substances.
• Antigens are
molecules(usually
proteins)
• Non-living substances
can be antigens
• Own body proteins
Immune Response
• Innate Immunity
• Protects against all
antigens
• Barriers that keep out
harmful materials
• Barriers is first line of
defense.
Immune Response
• Passive immunity
• Antibodies not
produced by yourself
• Passive immunization
• Protects immediately
but not long lasting
protection.
Allergic Reactions
• Sensitaties to substances
called allergens.
• Can be inhaled, swallowed,
injected
• Reactions can be mild,
servere, and life-threating
• Affect small area or whole
body
• Severe reactions form is
anaphylaxis or
anaphylactic.
Allergic Reactions
• Symptoms for mild • Severe/moderate
reaction reactions
• Hives • Cramps or pain in
• Itching abdomen
• Nasal congestion • Chest disscomfort or
tightness
• Rashes
• Diarrhea
• Watery,red eyes
• Difficuly breathing or
swallowing
• Dizziness
Hormone Release
• Releasing hormone or
releasing fader
• Main releasing
hormones are…
• Thyrotropin (TRH)
• Corticotropic (CRH)
• Gonadotropin (GnRH)
• Growth hormone
(GHRH)
