Dear ESL Parents,

Welcome to Year 3! My name is Joanna Johami. I am the Year 3 ESL teacher

and will be working with your child throughout the year. I am delighted that I
will continue working with some of you and your child previously from Year 2.

For parents new to me, let me introduce myself. I arrived last year and I truly
enjoy being here at NIST and Thailand. Prior to this, I was working with the
Education Ministry and schools in Hong Kong, international school in Kuala
Lumpur and London. I love being close to nature, culture and working with
children.

My philosophy in education has always been to develop the strength within our
learner to excel within their unexpected potential, believing that they can while
ensuring learning is fun! Together…we can make it happen! 

For our new ESL learners, I have attached The Learner Language Profile
designed to help me become more familiar with your child and would appreciate
if you could take the time to fill it in and send it back to your child’s homeroom
teacher by Monday August 30th.

I am always happy to meet with parents face-to-face. Please make an

appointment as my teaching schedule often means that I am away from my room
(room 1301). For communication, email me at jjohami@nist.ac.th for any queries
or we can organise a time to meet to discuss your child’s work, needs or
progress.

I look forward to our partnership this year as we work together in your child’s
education.

Yours sincerely,
