Get cured – The Siddha Way.

The Earliest mention of the use of medicinal plants is found in Thirumoolar Thirumanthiram –
Ennayiram, Tholkappiam and the ancient Tamil works of Sangam literature which are believed to
have been written thousands of years before the Christian Era.

Thousands of medicinal plants are described by Siddhars. Aloe Vera is one of the important plants.
Aloe Vera is also called as ‘Kanni’ and ‘Kumari’ in Tamil. The name was derived from the Arabic word
“Alloeh” meaning bitter, because of the bitter liquid found in the leaves. It is also called as ‘Lily of the
desert’ and ‘Plant of immortatility.’

It is said that the fresh gel of Aloe Vera was used by Cleopatra to keep her skin soft and young.

The plant has coolant effect. Add mucilage of Aloe Vera leaves with gingelly oil and boil. Apply this
oil on the head and take bath for hair growth and pleasant sleep.

Take mucilage of the plant and wash it with water for 5 times. Add Alam (padikaram or
cheenakarkandu in tamil) and tie in a cloth and hang it. Collect the liquid dripping from the cloth. It is
used as eye drops for curing redness of the eye and eye diseases such as conjunctivitis. Let’s start
growing plants with medicinal values.
