 History & background of Southeast
Bank Limited:
 Year1991- SEBL started its first journey as a Private Bank.
 Year1995- SEBL Started its Commercial Banking
Operations.
 SEBL started its banking operation with fourteen branches
and now it has almost 56 branches.
 Year 1999- It’s the year of SEBL’s Initial Public Offerings.

Comment: To explain this, we select year 2005 as base year. Firstly, in


2006 export income were 25874.61, which have been increased than that of
2005. Secondly, in 2007 export income were 28771.36, which have been
increased than that of 2006. Thirdly, in 2008 export income was 42178.60,
which have been increased than that of 2007. In this way, we see that
export income has positive change, so the firm’s financial position is
improving day by day.

Comment: From the above figure it is evident that gradually import


business was being increased. To explain this, we have selected year 2005
as base year. Firstly, in 2006 import income were 35,125.12, which have
been increased than that of 2005. Secondly, in 2007 import income was
38500, which have been increased than that of 2006. Thirdly, in 2008 import
income was 58019.70, which have increased than that of 2007. In this way
we see that import income has positive change, so the firm’s financial
positions improving day by day.

Comment: From this chart we find out the yearly L/C business
income. We select the year of 2006 as base year. In 2007 L/C
business income was 318,937, which has been increased than that
of 2006. Secondly, in 2008 L/C business income was 325,000,
which has been also increased than that of 2007. Thirdly, in 2009
L/C business income was 425,651, which has been increased than
that of 2008.

Foreign Exchange: SWIFT

The Bank has become the member of SWIFT Alliance Access,


a multi-branch secure financial messaging system provided
by
the Society for Worldwide Inter- bank Financial
Telecommunication (SWIFT), Belgium. With the activation of
the SWIFT system the Bank enjoys instant, low-cost, speedy
and reliable connectivity for L/C transaction, fund transfers,
message communication and other worldwide financial
activities.
