Baden-Baden offers it all

Story and photo by Birgit Thompson
USAG Stuttgart Public Affairs
Whether it is the thermal waters, historic
city center, casino, food or horse races that
draw visitors to Baden-Baden, it is a charming
and very international town.
The city of Baden-Baden lies nestled with-
in the Black Forest, just 110 kilometers south-
west from Stuttgart. The town itself is known
as a Roman bath and spa settlement, with its
mineral springs being one of the largest attrac-
tions. Baden-Baden also features one of the
oldest German casinos, as well as a prominent
horse racetrack, historic buildings, regional
specialties, and English is spoken throuought
the city.
