The meet was organised by MAMTA, at Hotel Charan , Lucknow. SRIJAN
network has 137 member NGOs in 93 districts across 7 states and 17 districts and 18 members in its Uttar Pradesh Branch. It is dedicated to create an enabling environment to improve health and development of young people (10-24 years) with an integrated approach to sexual and reproductive health, especially fro underprivileged sections, by promoting gender equality and rights. Mr. Anil Misra, State representative of Mamata, welcomed all participants and delivered inaugural Address. After that, discussion started and member NGOs raised their issues one by one. Some major points evolved during the discussion are listed below: --- • Some new members applied for membership and it was decided that the membership will be awarded only after the successful field visit and assessment of their actual interventions on grassroots level. • Youth involvement should be promoted in every manner. Youth participation will remain necessary in planning process of organization. This point was supported by every partner. • Areas of attention were selected as HIV & AIDS, RCH, Women Empowerment, SHG Formation • AWARD, an organisation from Kanpur selected as New Zonal coordinator of SRIJAN. • Important Days should be celebrated at grassroots level to aware people of their rights. • Next Annual meeting will be organised by AWARD. • Peer education Training will be organised at Varanasi. • International Youth day celebrations will be organised by Vigyan Foundation. • Partner’s training will be organised at Gorakhpur.
