Bringing the Library to the Community: YPRL adds Additional Mobile Library Stop

The Yarra Plenty Regional Library mobile library will make an additional stop on Mondays in
2010, bringing library services to the residents of Doreen, and will visit a new location in
Mernda at the new community centre.

The new stops have been added to cater for the City of Whittlesea’s expanding population.

From Monday 2 February, the mobile library will stop on Monday afternoons at Painted Hill
Road Doreen between 1.00pm and 2.30pm, and at the new Mernda Community Activity
Centre at 70 Mernda Village Drive from 3.00pm and 4.00pm. The new Mernda stop replaces
the stop in Schotters Road Mernda.

The mobile library will also visit the Lime Street, Whittlesea stop at a different time on
Mondays. From Monday 2 February the mobile library will visit from 10.00am until
12.00noon.

The 19-metre long mobile library carries more than 6,000 items, including an extraordinary
range of books, videos, DVDs, magazines, talking books and large print publications. Also on
board there are three computers with Internet access for library users.

All residents are invited to visit the mobile library and its friendly on-board staff Alan, Ian and
Paul when the mobile library resumes its rounds on Thursday 28 January.
