New Pictrography 4500 and New Pictro-Paper Ever-Rich

– Fujifilm’s Latest Ultra-High-Quality Photo Printer Solution –

PHOTOKINA 2002 COLOGNE, GERMANY, September 25, 2002 – Fuji Photo Film
Co., Ltd. is proud to announce the introduction of the Pictrography 4500, the latest
addition to the Pictrography Digital Printer series acclaimed worldwide for its superb
print quality.

The Pictrography 4500 will replace the Pictrography 4000II, which has gained strong
support among a wide range of market segments including professional photographers,
portrait studios, pre-press and photo shops.
As with previous models, the Pictrography 4500 features Fujifilm’s exclusive “Laser
Exposure - Thermal Development Dye-Transfer Process” which produces continuous
gradation similar to that of a silver halide photographic print. Multiple-size output
capacity ranges from Postcard (102 x 152mm or 4 x 6 inches) to A3 wide / Double letter
wide sizes. High-speed output for A3 / Double Letter size produces the first print in
about 90 seconds and subsequent prints in about 58 seconds. A new feature of the
Pictrography 4500 integrating the color calibrator into the main unit makes the system
even easier to use.

Fujifilm believes the new Pictrography 4500, available within this year, together with
the Pictrography 3500, will gain wide acceptance in fields where high-quality digital
prints are required.

New Pictro-Paper Ever-Rich

Newly developed Pictro-Paper Ever-Rich offers fade-resistance similar to that of color
photographic paper. Not only is it resistant to indoor light, new Ever-Rich Pictro-Paper
also protects against sunlight. The secret is a unique paper structure that protects against
both visible and ultraviolet light. The paper has a newly added anti-fading agent in the
diffusion transfer material and a UV-resistant layer that protects against color image
fading due to UV-ray exposure.

As digital imaging needs grow more sophisticated and diverse, Fujifilm is confident that
Pictrography with 4500 model and Pictro-Paper Ever-Rich will become an even more
irreplaceable solution to a wide range of digital printing applications than ever.
