Next steps: I think that he might want to send food or help.
What is he doing about this?
He needs think about what the people need.
And how much money is going to be needed
I think that he should send for help or arrange food, water and
shelter.
He should stop what ever he is doing and get to the important
parts or the job !
Bob Parker (Mayor)
• Next steps: How much money will he need to
put a side for the damage?
• He will need to get to work fast because some
people don’t have homes because of the
earthquake.
• He needs to get some protection because all
the buildings and glass are breaking.
• He should get officials, shops and schools to
shut if they are not safe.
Civil Defence Minister

• John Carter, the Civil Defence Minister, said


there is "a lot of damage to key infrastructure".
Indications are that the damage could cost the
country NZ$2bn (£930m). He must wonder
how those people affected would feel.
• He should get some money and help with the
broken houses.
School Principals

• They should have funds and fundraisers to repair the


schools .
• They should put all their money together so that they
can repair half of the school.
• It they have some extra concrete they can send some
over to fill some of the holes
• School Principals are worried about safety
School Students
• They can ask their parents if there is any
money left for the earthquake repairs
• They need to stay warm and safe
• They have to work together to get the job done
• School students should help as much as
possible
Parents
• Parents should help as much as possible
• They should gather their food and make sure
they have what they need to survive
• They should not think of themselves
• Should fight for their homes and their towns to
be repaired
• They should find a hotel or somewhere safe
to stay in while their house gets fixed
Police
• What are they doing about this problem ?
• Police should hurry up and do something
about safety from the earthquake
• They can get safety guards to keep people
away from damaged buildings and roads
• They can send some helicopters over to
get people somewhere safe
