    Thank you for your letter of4`s August addressed to my Head of Department, Sarah Jones .

    As I mentioned when we spoke briefly this afternoon by telephone, Jane Corbin is in the
    United States on leave . I have a contact telephone number for her and I have been trying to
    reach her since I received your letter . I believe that some if not all of her notes in relation to
    conversations with Dr Kelly may be kept in places other than here at the BBC but I will do
    everything that I can to locate the notes and provide you with transcripts urgently .

    In the meantime I enclose a file containing copies of all press notices issued by the BBC in the
    period 29m May 2003 to 17'l' July 2003 as requested.
