    Thank you for your letter of 8 July replying to mine of the same day.

    This is not about the divulging of sources.

    So that you can establish whether the name of the person who has come
    forward is the same as the name oiven to BBC Management by Andrew
    Gilligan, I am now prepared to tell you that his name is David Kelly, advisor to
    the Proliferation and Arms Control Secretariat in the MOD

    I trust that the BBC internal inquiry into Mr GiIlIgan's dealings with the MOD

    Press Office will be broadened to include this matter .
