Run For the Schools Kick Off

Iowa City, IA (September 16, 2010) Grab your running shoes Iowa City and dust off the
walking shoes as the 12th Annual MidWestOne Bank Run For the Schools hits the start
line on Sunday, October 17, 2010. The races, which benefit the Iowa City Community
School District and the Regina Catholic Community School District, raised over
$36,000 last year for the schools. This brings the total of $420,000 donated to the
schools over the past eleven years.

The first entry deadline of October 1st offers an $10 entry fee for children and a $20
entry fee for adults. From October 2nd through October 14th race day fees are $15 for
kids and $25 for adults. Race weekend entry fees October 15th through 17th are $20 for
kids and $30 for adults. A special family package offers a family of four the opportunity
to participate for $45 before October 1st. Add $7 for each family member that wishes to
participate. Family packages must include one adult participant and all entry forms
must be mailed together. Half marathon fees are $30 until October 1st and $35 from
October 2nd through October 14th and $40 on race weekend, October 15th through 17th.
T-shirts are not guaranteed after the October 1st deadline.

The MidWestOne Bank Run For the Schools includes a half-mile, one mile, 5K run or
walk, a 10K run or walk, wheelchair one mile, wheelchair 5Kand 10K, and half
marathon run. The race course starts at the corner of College and Gilbert Streets and
winds its way through downtown and then on to the east side of Iowa City and finishes
downtown. Registration is available online at http://www.runfortheschools.com or
www.getmeregistered.com. Entry forms are available at Running Wild, 1801 2nd St,
Clock Tower Plaza in Coralville or 1950 Dodge Road NE in Cedar Rapids
Registrations may be dropped off at the Running Wild stores or any MidWestOne Bank
location or mailed to Iowa City Road Races, PO Box 3148, Iowa City, IA 52244.
