The following are the key aspects that the interviewee would need to work on whilst

soliciting a sales representative job:


1.Knowledge about the company and the industry
Knowledge about the company’s product portfolio and also that of the company’s
competitor’s product portfolio. The candidate should also be aware of the PODs & the
POPs.

2. Strengths & Weaknesses


The employee must clearly list down ones strength and show how the company will
benefit from it. He/she must be well aware of his/her weakness and must prepare on
how he/she would state them so as to convince the interviewer that it wouldn’t hamper
the company in any way. The interviewee must also prepare on how he/she has made a
conscious effort to improve on his weakness.

3.Be well versed with the location of business


Should have basic knowledge about the location in which he/she is required to operate
(Modes of transport, language etc.)

4. Skills requirement for the job


The interviewee would be expected to have good communication skills and hence must
work upon improving on the same. He/she would be expected to show high levels of
motivation and persistence and thus he/she must prepare on how to could get the
interviewer to believe that he/she possesses the same.

5.Key questions that the interviewee must concentrate on:

‘Why do you want to work with a company like LG?’


It’s a huge brand & the market leader in terms of sales of white goods. It would provide
the right platform and exposure and would give a much required impetus to one’s career.

‘What makes you feel you would be a good sales rep?’


The interviewee could narrate his/her experience in the field (Assuming that he/she has
had prior experience). He/she could state how he/she was instrumental in converting
deals thereby making vital contributions to the organization. This could give the
interviewee a better shot at bagging the job.
If the interviewee is a fresher then he/she could state personal traits that he/she
possesses that is imperative to the success of the job.

6.Not only learn whilst on the job but also give back
Throughout the interview the interviewee must keep one thing in mind that the attitude
that he/she portrays should be one that clearly conveys that he/she is looking for a win-
win situation for both himself/herself as well as the organization. The interviewee must
have the attitude of not just learning but giving back to the organization thereby making
it a mutually beneficial relationship.
