RECENT MAJOR PURCHASE :

ALMIRA/ CUPBOARD

Decision Making Process

1) NEED RECOGNITION

 Messy room

ACTUAL STATE DESIRED STATE

( unorganized messy room) ( clean organized room)

As I have shifted from hostel to a flat recently, so my entire stuff was spread over the
floor. The room was looking congested and it was hard to find my things. So things
needed to be organized and aligned in a proper way. I thought of buying an almira

2) INFORMATION SEARCH

 INTERNAL SEARCH

As I have never bought an almira before, so the internal search could not be done.
I majorly relied on the external search

 EXTERNAL SEARCH

The following were my external sources of search

 Personal sources : friends

My friends who were already living in flats were having cupboards. So, I asked them
which place is best to buy in almira. I got to know there is a market in panvel which is
famous for furniture.

 Commercial sources : newspaper ads

Apart from that, I also tracked of the sales and discount in the nearby furniture shops

3) EVALUATION OF ALTERNATIVES
 Comparision in price and quality

After my information search , I selected the panvel market best for shopping. There
were many shops selling almira. I spent around 6 shops to check which shop is
providing the best quality in reasonable price

4) PURCHASE

Finally, I purchased an almira from one of the shop there .

5) POST PURCHASE

 Satisfied

After purchasing, I got the almira delivered at my place. The delivery person delivered it
till my room. Now my things are arranged in the proper way in the almira. So, my need
is satisfied.

FACTORS AFFECTING THE PURCHASE OF ALMIRA

EXTERNAL FACTORS

 PEER GROUP INFLUENCE

All my other flat mates were also buying almira for themselves. So, I also get influenced
to get one for myself

 IMAGE

The panvel market has a better brand image than the market in kharghar. So , my
preference got more towards the panvel market to do my purchase
INTERNAL FACTORS

 MONEY

My final choice was majorly decided by the share of my pocket money which I can
spend on this.

 TIME SAVING : convenience

As I did not want to spend more time on this purchase ( in order to cope up with daily
college schedule), I restricted my entire purchase process to 2 days

 LOCATION : reluctance to travel

I didn’t consider the other almira shops which are far away from kharghar so as to avoid
travelling.
