 Minutes of The Debating Society of
Sekolah Menengah Murni.
Venue : English Club Room
Date : 5 July 2010
Time : 4.00 p.m.
Present : Dahlan Aziz ( Chairman), David Tan
( Secretary ), Kesavan Nair ( Treasurer), Gladys Lee
and Sharifah Aishah ( Comitte Members)
Absent with apology : Mr. Kumaran ( Adviser), Peter
James ( Comitte member), Manjit Singh
( Comitte member).
Agenda:
1. Welcome dinner for Encik karim Daud
2. Fund – raising projects
3. Other matters arising
Gladys Lee proposed the minutes of the
last meeting be passed.
Sharifah Aishah seconded the proposal.
 1. Welcome Dinner
The President proposed a welcome dinner
be held to welcome Encik Karim as an new
adviser.
The welcoming dinner will be cost about
RM 12 per member.
It will be held at Restoran Mutiara on 30
August 2010 around 7.30 p.m.
The President wanted to prepare the
welcome speech.
 2. Fund- raising projects
The treasurer told to society members that
they have low funds in society.
Then,Kesavan Nair suggested to hold fund-
raising campaigns such as sell Society T-
shirts and also having video shows for
Form Five Students.
The President have to ask permission from
the principal first.
 3. Other matters arising
The Secretary received an invitation to
participate in inter-school debates.
The society need to select the team for
the invitation.The secretary was then
instructed to see the new Adviser.
Therefore, the proposal agreed to
accept the invitation from Sekolah
Menengah Taman Bahagia.
The meeting was adjourned at 5.30 p.m. It was
resolved that the next meeting will be held on
the 8 August 2010.
