• They divided into teams.
• Placed into remote villages.

Dorabji Tata Trust.
• Studied cases and problems.
• The executive vice president Mr. Satish
Pradhan of TATA Sons said ‘maximum
population lives In rural areas so we want
leaders who are relevant to this country’
• After 2-3 months the 35 recruits of 2009 TAS
batch were dispatched to many corners of
globe.
• They worked on projects of Tata Beverages or
Tata communication in countries like SA and
UK.
Global not Indian
• 90 companies in the group have operations in
over 85 countries .
• TAS is working on its talent group to cope up
with global needs.
• Need of more international flavor in TAS.
• Challenges: salaries and relocation.
Recruitment
• The employees of companies like Corus &
Jaguar-Land Rover are recently acquired by
group.
• Hitting overseas campuses.
Diverse, Not Limited
• Why MBA’s, why not social scientists.
• 70’s and 80’s it is easy to get caliber from IIT’s
and IIM’s
• Now more efforts should be taken.
• Reinvention of TAS.
Leaders, Not Managers
• TAS not creating leaders.
• To lead smaller companies in the group.
• Getting required talent for TAS.
• Race within the group.
• Need of globally intelligent, and multicultural
skills.
