SWE’s Science Saturdays

4th and 5th graders at local elementary schools are invited to


UC Berkeley for Science Saturdays with the Society of Women Engineers.
SWE Science Saturdays are a 2 hour fun engineering project and lesson.
Students can keep the project they make. Spaces are given to those who
RSVP First! Students can participate for free, but SWE is accepting
a suggested donation of $5 per participant to cover the cost of suppplies.

1 - Creative Chemistry
Chemical Engineering: Density and Electroplating
2 - Eco-Friendly Engineer
Environmental Engineering: pH testing and microscopes
3 - Quake Safe
Civil Engineering: Structural design & earthquake engineering
4 - Sound of Music
Sound and Vibrations: Physics of sound and instruments
5 - Blast off wih SWE!
Aerospace Engineering: Paper planes & bottle Rockets

Dates: 1 - October 2nd: 235 Dwinelle


2 - October 16th: 250 Dwinelle / 3 - October 30th: 189 Dwinelle
4 - November 13th: 189 Dwinelle / 5 - To Be Announced
All Science Saturdays are 10 am – 12 pm
