9-27 - 10-1 Book Fair

My First Grade Friends have spent the past few weeks 9-30 – Grandparent Day – 2:40-3:20
immersed in books. We have also learned several basic 10-1 – Favorite Hero Dress Up Day
but very important reading strategies that will make us
better readers. The strategies we will revisit this week Fall Festival – 5:30-8:00
are looking at the picture, matching one to one, getting 10-11 - Skate Night – 6:00
our mouths ready, and making sense of what we read.
Quiz your child on these strategies as I’m sure they would
love to teach you about them!

Writing:
Grandparents Day is right around the corner; therefore,
we will conclude our Grandparent writing. We will again
focus on our writer’s checklist, making certain that we
have capital letters at the beginning of a sentence,

punctuation at the end of a sentence, and correct
spacing. We will also talk about capital letters in the Angel Bolen, you are simply the BEST!
