This study focuses on the capabilities of post operative patients of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Medical Center to render care for themselves. The result of the study will be used to come up with
a proposed educational material to improve the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor skills
The subjects of the study are the post-operative patients male and female ages 18-
• The purpose of this study is to provide a wider understanding why the respondents are
having a difficulty on providing self care, or do they chose not to render appropriate self care
• The study assessed the self care capabilities of post-op patients of Our Lady of Mt
Carmel Medical Center specifically this study answered the following questions:
1) How may the respondents’ profile be describe as to age; sex; and marital status.
4) Based on the study what is the implication for the application of the theoretical theory of

• In the study we would like to know if the post operative patients can render care by
themselves. We observed that most of the respondents are female and many of them have a
higher extend in giving self care, thus the hypothesis is correct which states that there is no
significant relationship between the patient’s demographic profile and their self care capabilities.
