Influenza Virus
 This new virus was first detected
in people in April 2009 in the
United States(Mexico).
This virus was originally referred to
as “swine flu”
 It came from
several strains
of virus.
 This virus is
spreading from
person-to-person
probably in much
the same way that
regular seasonal
influenza viruses
spread.
 The Virus
rapidly spread
around the
world.

Case in the
Philippines.
MODE
OF
TRANSMISSION
 Exposure to droplets from the cough
and sneeze of the infected person
 Touching things with flu viruses
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
 FEVER

 HEADACHE

 RUNNY NOSE
 FATIGUE

 COUGH

 LOSS OF
APPETITE
 VOMITING

 CHILLS
MANAGEMENT
 For fever &
headache give
paracetamol,spo
nge bath and
wear light
clothings.
 Increase fluid

intake.
 You can also
give
soup,juice,tea

 For vomiting
Small frequent
meals.
PREVENTION
 Cover your nose and mouth when
coughing and sneezing.
 Always wash hands with soap and

water.
 Use alcohol or hand sanitizers
 Avoid close contact with sick

people
 Increase your body's
resistance
Eat Nutritious food.

 Have at least 8 hours


of sleep
 Be physically
active

 Manage your
stress
Consult your doctor
