Heads or Tails?

It's been tough to make heads or tails in NFL betting this year with certain key situations providing little
insight through three weeks. There was a 4-4 ATS split between road favorites and home dogs last week
and totals players were treated to a second straight week of 9-7 in favor of the Over. Double-digit
favorites are 2-2 ATS this year.

Overall, home dogs have shown a profit this season, going 13-7-1 ATS through three weeks, but that's
mainly because of a 4-0-1 ATS Week 2 record. This week, five teams man the home dog role: Cleveland,
Buffalo, St. Louis, Oakland and Jacksonville. That quintet has a collective record of just 3-12 SU, but is 6-
8-1 ATS. One of them is a hideous 9-25 ATS when taking seven points or less at home. You'll have to
check out our exclusive betting trends to find out which team.

As is usually the case, Under bettors reigned supreme in Week One, going 11-4-1. As mentioned above,
Over better have gotten slight revenge the last two weeks with consecutive 9-7 efforts. The lowest total
on the board comes from the Baltimore/Pittsburgh contest with the oddsmakers expecting just 34.5
total points to be scored. Both teams went Over last week. The highest total on the Week 4 board is in
the Indy/Jacksonville game at 46.5. Both of these teams went Under last week ironically enough.

Buffalo was the first double-digit dog of the season in Week 2, losing 34-7 to the Packers, but followed
up that blowout loss with a cover last week in New England. Cleveland also covered taking 10 or more
from the oddsmaker in Week 3 while Detroit was not so fortunate. This week finds two more double-
digit dogs on the board: Carolina and Detroit, who take on New Orleans and Green Bay respectively. The
Lions are 0-19 SU and 4-13-2 ATS at Lambeau Field since 1992 while the Panthers are 0-3 ATS this
season, but 4-0 ATS the last two years vs. the Saints.
