East Fork Of The Bitterroot River Road Project .

MT PFH 78(1)

10/3/2010

The road is nearly black the entire length again now. By our plan the last of the gravel section
should be paved by Tuesday night and the dusting eliminated. This should be the last week of
paving as the contractor plans to complete the road and the approaches this week. Aggressive
schedule but with no bad breaks or weather it can be done. For the most part your ride should be
considerably smoother. The road is a little wider but will appear narrow due to the shoulders.

Guide posts, hazard markers, and road signs will begin to show up along the roadway maybe as
soon as the end of the week. The roadway will also have a speed posted along the route.

Clean up along the shoulders, in the pit, and the waste area should begin this week. So crews will
be scattered along the road for another week.

Flaggers and pilot cars will continue to shuttle the traffic through the paving zones. Please be alert
as the trucks work both sides of the roadway at the paver. Stay with the pilot car and don't attempt
to travel through the area with out the pilot car. If you find yourself away from the pilot car pull off
and wait. He will be back usually in less that 15 minutes.
