Dato Mukhriz questioned the Constitution without congressional immunity

In Dec 2008, Dato Mukhriz questioned the Constitution without congressional immunity that

was one of the 4 major sensitive issues, he has committed the offense of sedition, if convicted, he

will lose his seat in the parliament.

Dato Mukhriz suggest government to shut down the Chinese primary school and Tamil primary

school in the parliament, he believes that Malaysia people are not united is caused by the

different education system, so the newspapers have reported the following headings:

• Mukhriz :"One school system - the proposed replacement of different origins towards

education" - Utusan Malaysia.

• Mukhriz: “the abolition of native schools, a system to replace all" - Star Electronics.

• Mukhriz: “Close language school" - English Malaysia today

In fact, Federal Constitution as amended in 1971 to include 4 topic must never be questioned, not

even enjoy the Privileges and Immunities of Parliament debate on the sensitive issue and as the

Sedition Act section 3 (f) under the terms of an incitement to crime, as long as the Constitution

10 (4) to clarify the terms of sensitive issues had not been repealed, nobody could proposed

closure of any Chinese and Tamil primary school.

If Mukhriz be charged and found guilty of instigate, he will be fine Rm2000, prison a year and

lose the seat in parliament.


Chua Soi Lek announced his resignation of the seat in parliament due to sex scandal

On January 1, 2008, The Malaysian Health Minister Chua Soi Lek admitted that he was the

person featured in a sensational sex DVD that was widely being circulated in Johor. He became

the highest-level officials to resign because of the scandal for last 4 years in Government of

Malaysia.

On January 2, 2008, he formally announced his resignation from all posts including Member of

Parliament for Labis, vice presidency of MCA, and Minister of Health at a press conference.

Chua later remarked his downfall was due to his dedication to his work as Health Minister and

MCA Vice-President, which caused his political rivals to grow suspicious of him

Besides, MCA complaints Chua Soi Lek’s remarks and sex scandal violated the MCA

constitution and undermine the image of the MCA and to influence government. Therefore,

MCA Presidential Council collectively decided to accept the Disciplinary Committee's

recommendations, the dismissal of the deputy president Chua's party due to "sex CD case,” with

immediate effect.
