• Inference – a conclusion or deduction based
on an observation
Observations
 Any information collected with the senses.
 The skill of describing scientific events.

 Quantitiative Observation – an observation made


using numbers (measurements, counting, etc.)

 Qualitative Observation – an observation made


using your senses (color, taste, shape, etc.)
Inference
• Conclusions or deductions based on
observations .
• The process of drawing a conclusion from
given evidence.
