I am Beowulf, son of Edgtheo, Slayer of the monster, Grendel, savior to the people of Hrothgar, and
once ruler of all Geatland. I see that you are in need of a man such as me to rescue the trapped miners
in your country. My history, surely you have heard, is that of fighting great fiends hand to hand, leading
men through darkened paths to rid helpless people of horrific infestations, and even destroying great
dragons. I would be more than willing to come save your helpless miners from their rock tomb that they
may yet again see their families. I dare not ask for payment for these services. I ask only that you tell
the world of my deeds and if by some infinitesimal chance I should perish, please send my armor back to
Sweden.
The situation at hand is that there are many miners trapped underground in a mine with no way out.
Granted the have oxygen and resources to live off of, but I fear for the stability of the mine. We need to
get those miners out of the mine before any more harm can be done and your people revolt. A few
complications that have been found are the stability of the ground above the mine, crumbling walls, and
blocked passages. All of these though can be overcome.
My plan is to dig a tunnel starting away from the mine and then proceeding underneath the central
chamber and up through the ground in the central chamber where the miners are trapped. My strength
will suffice for digging and not jeopardize the structure of the mine as would a jackhammer or TNT. I will
also be able to dig quickly and make it into the mine in no time due to my unyielding nature and great
determination I have when tackling situations. The miners will be more than happy to attend my
leadership and follow my back out of the mine through the tunnel due to my great leadership skills that
have been displayed when camping out for the monster, Grendel.
Once out, the miners will be able to return home and we can take this off of the list of to-dos and put it
in the storybooks. Please consider this offer of assistance.
Sincerely Yours,
Beowulf, Son of Edgtheo
