THE ART OF LETTING GO

Part 5 of Series: Love At Last Sight

Oct. 9th & 10th, 2010 Pastor Kerry Shook

“If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go,
you will save it.” Luke 17:33 (NLT)

“In order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable
riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one
can boast.” Eph. 2:7-9 (NIV)

1. LET GO OF TRYING TO CONTROL

AND GIVE GRACE
“The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had:
He always had the nature of God, but he did not think that by
force he should try to remain equal with God. Instead of this, of
his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a
servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human
likeness.” Phil. 2:5-7 (TEV)

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you….”

Rom. 15:7 (NIV)
2. LET GO OF BITTERNESS AND
EMBRACE GRACE
“Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what
they are doing.’” Luke 23:34a (NLT)

3. LET GO OF SELFISHNESS FOR

THE CAUSE OF GRACE
“No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I
have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take
it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”
John 10:18 (NLT)

4. LET GO OF GUILT AND LIVE IN

GRACE
“to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given
us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his
blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of
God's grace.” Eph. 1:6-7 (NIV)
