The History
∞ Comes fro the Arawakan language name for the
Carib Indians of the West Indies.
∞ It is is the ingestion of human flesh by humans.
∞ It proliferated with man's increasing attempt to
appease the gods, survive famine, or exact
revenge on or control his enemies.
∞ was practiced as far back as the Neolithic Period
and Bronze Age in what is now Europe and the
Americas.
Various Types of Cannibalism
 Survival Cannibalism
 consumption of human flesh in emergency
situations such as starvation
 Endocannibalism
 consumption of human flesh from a member
of one's own social group.
 Exocannibalism
 consumption of flesh outside one's close
social group—for example, eating one's
enemy.

Cannibal Case
•Packer was an American gold prospector and convicted
cannibal. On February 9th 1874, he left with 5 others for
an expedition in the Colorado mountains. Two months
later Packer returned from the expedition alone. When
questioned of the whereabouts of the men that had been
with him, Packer said that he killed them in self defense
and was forced to eat their remains in order to survive
the elements...
