The MRT-3 EDSA Line Depot tour is one of the main projects of the Railway
Engineering Student Society. It aims to enhance the knowledge of the students in
the field of railway operations and maintenance and familiarized themselves on the
different functions of the depot area.

The propose concept, requirements and activities information are listed below:

• THEME: Railway Engineering and Management Industry-Academe

• The tour will be held on August 26, 2010 at MRT-3 Depot located at North
Ave., Quezon City
• Railss Adviser Engr. Guillermo O. Bernabe should be present on the tour
• All students and participants shall wear uniform together with school or
Organizational ID
• No certificate will be award to the participants after the said tour
• Assembly time and attendance will be at 11:00 AM
• Departure time will be at 12:00 PM Sharp
• Must be accompanied by at least two (2) RailSS Officers per group
• Estimated time arrive will be at 12:45 PM
• End of the tour and departure as projected will be at 5:00 PM

The programs on the Tour will be:


Lecture and Introduction:
• A brief history of MRT-3
• The different companies and agencies involve in the MRT-3 and its functions
• Design of the depot
• The functions of the depot

Site Visitation Programs:


• The rolling stock
• The functions of Heavy Maintenance area
• The Stabling area
• The different Machines and Equipments for Railway Maintenance

The benefits and outcomes of this project are to end up the students with more
knowledge and familiarized them with the different equipments, tools, machineries
and also the working environment of Railway industries that they can be used as a
catalyst for their future studies and practicum subjects.
