Mini-lesson 1
Lesson Plan

Topic: Gravity

Objective: After getting introduced to the concept of gravity and its applications, students will
be familiar with the concept of conservation of energy.

Description:
(This is an overview of the whole lesson. You will actually explain this at the beginning of the lesson.)
I will introduce the topic of gravity. After defining the concept, I will provide a story about the
impact of gravity on our lives and how we can observe it. Next, you will participate in a
demonstration to verify that the theoretical study I provided coincides with the outcome of the
demonstration.

Lesson Procedure:
Warm-up (Time: 3 minutes)
1. What do you know about gravity?
2. The famous story of Newton and the apple.

Main Activity (Time: 6 minutes)


1. The formal definition of gravity.
2. Arrange two groups.
3. Perform a demonstration reflecting the concept of energy conservation.
4. Relate the experimental results with the theoretical study.

Wrap-up
1. Questions about the demonstration and whether it explains gravity.
