MORNING NOTE 11 OCT, 2010


MARKET INSIGHTS: On Friday Oct 8, 2010,Volatility was order of the day as the key

benchmark indices recovered in the last 40 minutes or so of trade, soon after hitting fresh
INDEX Close Chg Chg intraday lows. Recovery in index heavyweights Reliance Industries (RIL) and Infosys,
Sensex 20250 -65 -0.32% triggered rebound in the key benchmark indices in late trade. The BSE 30-share Sensex
Nifty 6103 -17 -0.28% was provisionally down 60.92 points or 0.3%, up close to 110 points from the day's low
and off close to 155 points from the day's high. The market fell for the second straight day

today, 8 October 2010. Metal, consumer durables and auto stocks declined. The BSE mid-
Smallcap 10513 -29 -0.28% cap and small-cap indices reversed initial gains. The market breadth was weak, in
contrast with a strong breadth earlier in the day. Global stocks were weak ahead of the
VALUE TRADED (Rs Crs) Chg influential jobs data in US later in the global day.

As per provisional figures, the BSE 30-share Sensex was down 60.92 points or 0.3% to
NSE 16805 -16.32% 20,254.40. The Sensex fell 169.58 points at the day's low of 20,145.74 in late trade. The
F&O Total 103510 1.09% index rose 93.87 points at the day's high of 20,409.19 in early trade. The S&P CNX
Nifty was down 14.10 points or 0.23% to 6,106.20 as per provisional figures. The BSE
NET INFLOWS (Rs Crs) Chg Mid-Cap index fell 0.4%. The BSE Small-Cap index shed 0.18%. Both these indices
reversed initial gains. The market breadth was weak, in contrast with a strong

breadth in early trade. On BSE, 1907 shares declined while 1063 shares rose. A total of
DIIs -1002.0 -16% 87 shares remained unchanged.

FII OPEN INTEREST (Crs) Chg European markets edged lower on Friday, 8 October 2010, with investors reluctant
FII Index Futures 16053 4.16% to take big bets ahead of the US jobs report which could determine whether more
stimulus measures will be introduced to spur the recovery. The key benchmark
FII Index Options 60301 2.08% indices in UK, France and Germany fell by 0.28% to 0.59%. Most Asian stocks fell on
FII Stock Futures 42887 0.69% Friday, 8 October 2010, on caution ahead of the key US jobs report due later in the
FII Stock Options 934 17.19% global day. The key benchmark indices in Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia
and Singapore fell by between 0.2% to 1.09%. News Moody's Investors Service is
reviewing China's government bond rating for a possible upgrade, also aided the
World Indices Chg rally in Chinese stocks. The Shanghai Composite index jumped 3.13%. Hong Kong's
Dow Jones 11007 0.54% Hang Seng rose 0.26%

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have
FTSE 100 5658 -0.07% decided to implement 'pre-market call auctions' which is a special 15-minute
trading window starting at 9:00 IST from 18 October 2010. The aim of this exercise
Commodity Chg is to enable better price discovery in the market at the opening bell. .

TECHNICAL VIEW:
Well once again a weak scenario we have witnessed yesterday. Opened on a relatively higher note spot index shown some profit booking on
the last day of the week though last half an hour recovery will give some sought of relief for traders. For upcoming sessions we expect some
range bound trading though we expect some materialistic cushions around 6000 level. Hence traders are advised to remain attentive at this
stage and use 'Buy on dip' strategy near to 6000. On the flip side global markets may shown some aggressive buying in the upcoming sessions.
Hence possibility of regaining previous highs near to 6350 still on the cards. HAPPY TRADING....
