 THE MOTTO OF THE INDIAN ARMY IS “Live for

 Indian Army statistics – THE SECOND LARGEST ARMY
IN THE WORLD.
 There are 97 armoured regiments in the Indian Army.
 The Indian Army is divided into 4 commands-
o THE CENTRAL COMMAND- LUCKNOW(UP)
o THE EASTERN COMMAND- KOLKATA(WB)
o THE NORTHERN COMMAND-UDHAMPUR(J&K)
o THE SOUTHERN COMMAND-PUNE(MAHARASHTRA)

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
o South Western Air Command (SWAC), headquartered at
Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
o Western Air Command (WAC), headquartered at
New Delhi.
 A special ACROBAT TEAM of INDIAN AIRFORCE is
the SURYAKIRAN.
 With strength of approximately
170000 personnel & 1300 aircrafts,
the Indian Airforce is the world’s
4th largest Airforce .
 The PRESENT AIR CHIEF MARSHAL of the Indian
Airforce is Pradeep Vasant Naik.
 INDIAN NAVY
 The Indian Navy operates in 4 commands. They are-
o Western Naval Command, Mumbai
o Eastern Naval Command ,Visakhapatnam
o Southern Naval Command, Kochi
o Far Eastern Naval Command, Port Blair

• The Vice Chief of Naval Staff is VICE ADMIRAL

warfare systems.
 The Indian Navy is composed of MARCOS( Marine
commando force)- a special force for counter terrorism
etc.
