Admission to the Ph.D Programme

Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D programme in the Departments of
Bengali, Comparative Literature, Economics, Library & Information Science,
Philosophy and Sanskrit.
Candidates including those who had registered before 11th July 2009, but now wish to opt
for new regulations should apply in the prescribed form available on the website
http://www.jaduniv.edu.in. However the older registration of the candidates registered
before 11th July 2009 will remain valid until that candidate registers under the new
regulation. The downloaded form is to be submitted along with a draft of Rs. 500/-
payable in favour of Registrar, Jadavpur University. The eligible candidates will have to
appear in a written admission test of two hour duration to be held in the respective
Departments.
Candidates who have an M.Phil degree (Regular course) or have qualified
NET/SET/Teacher Fellowship need not appear for the written examination and can
directly apply to appear for the interview.
The candidates are advised to note the following schedule.
• Last date for submission of applications- November 8, 2010
• List of eligible candidates will be displayed on Jadavpur University
website http://www.jaduniv.edu.in :on November 15, 2010.
• Written admission test for Bengali, Economics, Library & Information
Science, Philosophy and Sanskrit will be held on November 18, 2010.at
12 noon,
for Comparative Literature` on November 19, 2010.at 12 noon in their
respective departments.
• List of successful candidates in the written test will be displayed on the JU
website http://www.jaduniv.edu.in on November 30, 2010.
• The interview will be held during December 6-10, 2010.
