To Whom It May Concern:

[removed] worked under my direction during the summers of 2009 and 2010 at Los Alamos National
Laboratory. I have found him to be a very contentious and industrious worker. I have been quite pleased
by [removed]’s willingness to help out with any task I have set for him and would be quite pleased to
have him return if it fit his career plans.

The summer of his arrival in 2009, I was only able to support [removed] in a limited way due to my
schedule. I was particularly impressed by [removed]’s ability to negotiate the bureaucracy of Los Alamos.
He was able to access the laboratory training necessary to satisfy the safety documentation required to
perform work and obtain the needed signature authority. He performed his laboratory work efficiently and
interacted well with other laboratory workers. The manager of the laboratory commented that he
appreciated Cameron’s ability to work independently with limited instruction and had no concerns with
him working alone.

[removed]’s project on inert matrix pyrochlore composites to enhance thermal conductivity for nuclear
reactor applications was well researched and performed. As [removed] continued his project, even though
nearing completion, he found that he could not progress without assuming additional tasks. He took on
those tasks and made progress in those areas as well. Cameron submitted his work in the form of a poster
to the U.S. Department of Energy's second annual Science and Energy Research Challenge (SERCh) and
was awarded first place in engineering. In his second year, Cameron proposed a project to study the effect
of actinide incorporation on irradiation-induced defect energetics in a pyrochlore system. [removed] made
good progress despite the fact that his use of the laboratory was highly curtailed by procedural
circumstances beyond his control.

As you can tell, I think very highly of [removed] and would recommend him without reservations for any
endeavor he chooses to pursue. Please let me know if you have any further questions about him.
