Morocco possesses a rich cultural heritage, which includes eight World Heritage sites and a

series of traditional crafts that merit safeguarding.

The country boasts Masterpieces of the tangible Heritage of Humanity, for example: Medina of
Fez, Historic City of Meknes, and Archaeological Site of Volubilis…etc

Volubilis:
Volubilis is an archaeological site in Morocco situated near Meknes
between Fez and Rabat. The nearest town is Moulay Idriss Zarhoun.
The Mauritanian capital, founded in the 3rd century B.C., became
an important outpost of the Roman Empire and was graced with many
fine buildings. Extensive remains of these survive in the archaeological
site, located in a fertile agricultural area. Volubilis was later briefly to
become the capital of Idris I, founder of the Idrisid dynasty.
Volubilis features the best preserved ruins in this part of northern Africa. In 1997 the site was listed
as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
