In this week we did three activities which were very
enjoyable for me. Of course my favourite one is asking for a girl’s hand demo we played. When our teacher says “üüürüüü” we had to slow down our actions. The aim of this activity is to control our actions since as a teacher we should learn how to manage it. Our second activity is related with being a mirror and being an imitator. We did the same actions, movements as our partner then we changed the roles. I think thanks to this activity we learned observing someone which is related with monitoring our students in ELT and we understood that making eye contact is very important.
What I had difficulty in figuring out was nothing.
I can use the mirror-imitator activity in my teaching
because students can learn observing, monitoring someone, making eye contact and controlling their actions. Also I can use it as an ice breaker to improve students’ relationships with each other and improve group work skills.
