Please be aware that as projects are assigned, additional supplies may be necessary.
Each student has been assigned a textbook. Since we have a class set, students are expected to keep
their textbooks at home for homework UNLESS the teacher asks the students to bring the text to
class for a book check.
ASSIGNMENTS
Turn in all assignments at the beginning of class the day an assignment is due.
After the teacher has collected the assignment, all other work will be marked a full day late.
Assignments must be turned in with all required components. Refer to your assignment
sheets for further details.
If there are multiple pages to an assignment, please staple it neatly before class.
For final drafts, type it, use 1” margins, and always double-space!
Use your school planner to record ALL assignments and due dates. “I did not know the
assignment was due!” is NOT a valid excuse.
Always use MLA format.
GRADING
This year you will be graded on a variety of assignments, including essays, tests, quizzes, drills,
journals, discussions, independent reading, projects, and participation. Please keep track of your
grade. If you have a question about your grade, make an appointment to speak with me after class,
during lunch, or after school.
NO GRADE GRUBBING! DO NOT ASK ME ABOUT YOUR GRADE DURING
CLASS!!
I will keep track of your scores in my gradebook on my computer.
Grades will be posted periodically in the classroom.
GRADING SCALE
90-100 A

ATTENDANCE
Students are expected to be in their seats ready to work when the bell rings. You will receive a
referral your fourth tardy and all subsequent tardies. If you must be late to class, for whatever reason,
do not disturb the class as you enter. Take your seat and begin your work. Being late to class is not
an excuse to interrupt what we are doing. If you have a note excusing your lateness, please put it on
my table in the front of the room.
ABSENCES/MAKE UP WORK
Any work that was due the day absent is due at the beginning of class on the day of your
return.
Any work given on a day you are absent will be due one day after your return, with an
additional day for each excused absence. Unexcused absences are unable to make up work.
Obtain any missed notes or instructions from a trusted classmate.
Check the Agendas binder (located to the left of the classroom door) to see what assignments
were missed. Extra handouts are located next to the binder in the English 2 shelf.
Please sign and return the form by TOMORROW.
I have read and understood the policies and procedures for Mrs. Grunseth’s English 2 class.
