PARENT LIAISON POLICY

It is important that communication and cooperation is good between parents/carers


and staff. Parents/carers must be kept well informed and encouraged to become
involved in the education of their children and the life of the school. Children flourish
and achieve much better when teachers and parents/carers work together with
common aims.
We believe it is important for parents/carers to be aware of and involved in their
child’s education.

The school will:

KEEP PARENTS AND CARERS INFORMED BY

a) weekly newsletter
b) termly personal appointments
c) rota of teaching staff at gate each afternoon
d) personal contact, as appropriate
e) Early Years and parents’ information notice boards
f) website
g) Christ Church Life Channel
h) Managed Learning Environment
i) texting

ENCOURAGE PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT BY


a) standing invitation to join for class assemblies
b) termly invitation for parents to volunteer in school
c) invitation to other events e.g.
special services
concerts
plays
sports day etc.

d) personal invitations to help with school visits and trips


e) consulting with parents/carers regularly about school policy matters
f) personal invitations to use parental expertise in areas of the
curriculum
g) running short workshops and events after school as appropriate
h) holding a termly Early Years Parents’ Forum
i) organising tours of the school and meetings for new parents/carers by
appointment
j) every staff member endeavouring to attend at least one Parents’
Association event each year
k) positively encouraging parents/carers to take an active part in the
activities of the Parents’ Association.
l) organising parent governor surgeries to discuss issues of interest
