FCAPS MODEL 2

Fault management will deal with faults in the network. such as software and many

other devices that have failures to communicate within until there is a failure.

Fault management is concern with monitoring the network so it will not fail but

continue to operate and run smoothly. The equipment will always be in a critical

condition but you will monitor the network to prevent disruption and ensure the

user they can produce without any interruption. Some of the following functions

of Fault Management:

 Network monitoring, is the basic alarm management and more advance alarm settings.

 Fault diagnosis, examines root cause analysis and troubleshooting.

 Maintaining alarm logs

 Trouble ticketing

 Proactive Fault management

Configuration management needs to tell the network what to do which includes

functionality and delivers instructions to the network and the equipment. Performing

configurations on so many devices in a network is a huge task within itself. You have to

configure ever device that is connected to the network to prevent intrusions in the topology of the

network. The core of the network is configuration management which can deliver a service,

without proper configuration management a provider will find it difficult tracking equipment on

the network. This is a broder scope on the functions of configuration managements as followed:

 Configured resources, no matter if they are on the network or not.

FCAPS MODEL 3

 Auditing the network and discover whats on it

 Synchronizing management information and applications in the network

 Backing up the configuration and restoring files

 Managing images running on the network topology

Accounting management is associated with billing and information. To keep track of

network services, and data which is collected. Examples of accounting is it measures the traffic if

the network and calls, and minutes, number of service transactions.

Performance management of networks is measured according to throughput ,

communication performed a unit at a time. Delay can be applied at different layers of

communication. Performance management deals with monitoring and tuning the network and its

performance. Constant polling of your performance of data and device can definitely bring

management to its need.

Security is the management aspects to make sure the network is secured from external

and internal threats, such as hackers who spread viruses and malicious attempts to infect the

network. Management security involves managing the network and the many devices connected

to it and the infrastructure itself if it comes under attack.
