Global Economy Scavenger Hunt

You are to bring pictures of items to class along with your USB cord OR download the pics at home and
email them to yourself so you can access them on Tuesday, November 2nd.

On Thursday you will have compiled all your information on one page and put together either a
newsletter or a 9 slide powerpoint presentation. Each must fit on only ONE printed page.

List for Scavenger Hunt found in MESQUITE, TX (NOT ONLINE)

 Brochures of annual reports of two multinational corporations

 Evidence from three local businesses to show they do business internationally
 The name of a local retail store that sells only products “Made in America”
 Five toys or games that originated in other countries
 Two toys or games that had components from one country and were assembled in another or
somehow developed in more than one country
 Food items from 5 different countries
 Articles of clothing from 5 different countries
 List of books sold in your town by authors from 5 different countries. Where were the books
published? Who translated them?
 List of 5 films in the past five years that starred someone from another country
 List of 5 films in the past five years that had multinational crews and locations. Include at least
one that was coproduced by two or more countries.
 Descriptions of interviews from five foreigners (not from your team or the class) in which they
are asked six things they like about the United States and six things they don’t like
 A list of five places where a language other than English is displayed (on a bulletin board, poster,
etc)
 Two maps of the world drawn before 1900
 Five items in your town that were manufactured in another country but were not made in that
country six years ago

Your newsletter or slide view (9 to a page) powerpoint must be printed and turned in by end of class on
Thursday, November 4th. Because this is due the last day of the 6 weeks, if it is not turned in on time for
ANY reason, you will receive an “Incomplete” for the 2 nd six weeks grade. This includes excused
absences and student activity absences as well. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made.
